elf Mineral Pressed Blushes Review and Swatches

elf...elf...elf! Sometimes I love you, sometimes you make me mad, at times I ignore you...but I keep coming back; the pull can be intense!
So I placed a big order when e.l.f had that 50% off sale...sweet, right?  I got all of their pot liners, reviewed HERE, and some other goodies...including these pressed mineral blushes.
e.l.f says "Create a beautiful flushed look with this all-natural, enhancing blush. This innovative pressed powder creates a silky smooth texture that blends like a dream for everyday wear. Infused with Vitamin E and Grape to nourish the skin and provide anti-aging benefits for a more revitalized look."

The blushes are housed in a matte, black flip-top compact.  It has a clear top, and the product name and number on the bottom, with the typical e.l.f silver label. Each blush has .14/4grams of product and cost $5.  Get them HERE.
  • Cabo Cabana is peachy coral color, with a semi-matte finish. It has shimmers particles throughout, that fell off on contact.  It lasted for about 8 hours before it started to wear off.  It had a powdery effect when my brush touched the product.  This shade is ideal for most skin tones, especially dark skin.
  • Sweet Retreat  is a neutral light pink, with a semi-matte finish.  This did not show up on my dark brown skin, so I wasn't able to tell the actual wear time.  It had a powdery effect when my brush touched the product.  This shade is ideal for fair-light medium skin tones.
  • Jet Setter is a soft rose color, it has a semi-matte finish.  It lasted for over 8 hours before it started to wear off.  It had a slight powdery effect when my brush touched the product. This shade is ideal for most skin tones, especially dark skin.
  • Wanderlust  is a mid-toned berry color(similar to Jet Setter-a little darker), it has a semi-matte finish with shots of shimmer throughout(fell off upon application). It applied well and lasted for over 8 hours before it started wear off.  It had a slight powdery effect when my brush touched the product. This shade is ideal for most skin tones, especially dark skin.
*Quick Tip: Use your blush as an eyeshadow, especially if you're going for a monochromatic makeup look.  Cabo Cabana works great as a color to warm up your crease!
*If you're not sure what color blush to use, consider your lip color, and use a similar blush shade, this will create some cohesion. Unless of course you're wearing a green, blue, yellow...lipstick. Do NOT wear a green blush!
*Use a stippling/fan brush to apply bright or rich colored brushes.  This will give it a more diffused look, and you'll have less of a chance to overdo it.

Cabo Cabana, Sweet Retreat, Jet Setter, Wanderlust applied with e.l.f Studio Blush Brush. All swatches(brush and finger) were single layer swatches.
Wearing Cabo Cabana(about 7 hours after initial application)

The Pressed Mineral Blushes were all easy to apply, smooth and had a very natural-looking finish. The wear time was also really good.  I can't wait for more colors to be released!
The only gripes I have are: how much product will be lost because of the powderiness upon contact with a brush, and the fact that these all seem to have a white/beige base(undertone), which will make it harder for deeper skintones to wear.
