I love lipsticks, I can't lie! I love lipsticks...even on my......eye? I love lipsticks that's da truth! I love lipsticks woooot wooot wooooot!!!! GO BOLD LIPSTICKS......YAY!!! Don't steal my "cheer" song...I see it making millions in the near future$...lol!
Now on to the actual reason why we're here....
Today I'm mostly excited to post about the 'Go Bold' lipsticks from It's Your Face Cosmetics. This is an "indie" brand, from one of my "people"(the owner is Jamaican). These were gifted to me quite a while ago, so I've had time really dig in without a rushed post. Though I wasn't required to review these, I really wanted to. I also love supporting independent brands, and people that support me, so I'll be ordering a few goodies in the near future...stay tuned!
All the 'Go Bold' lipsticks cost $15 and seem to have the typical .120z-.15oz of product, it's not listed on the site or packaging.
They are packaged in a sleek, shiny, square black tube...that feels quite heavy and expensive. The inner portion is silver and the name is written on the bottom.
P.s. please excuse the product pictures, they're not my best;)
It's Your Face Cosmetics says: "Go Bold Lipsticks provides a variety of daring looks and unflinching styles. These color filled formula glides on with ease and allows you to achieve intense, long lasting wear with maximun color impact."
I found only some of the lipsticks to be long-wearing, but all of them had good color payoff. I wish there were a red, and a shade of orange in the range to mix it up a bit, though most of the colors are currently on trend. Get them HERE.
- Backstage - Bright pink, with a matte finish(full coverage)- This wore for about 3 hours, but that's because I had to remove it. It is quite uncomfortable to wear, and very dry/drying on my lips. It applied very unevenly, even with a balm and exfoliated lips. It actually made my lips peel a little. I'm not sure if I received a bad one, but this was really bad, but the color is so beautiful.
- Gum Drop - Warm lavendar purple with a satin finish(hint of frost), (medium-full coverage)- This wore for about 4 hours. It applied smoothly and was comfortable to wear. It didn't dry out my lips but wasn't moisturizing either.
- Twilight- Creamy magenta purple with a cream finish(full coverage)- This is one of the most beautiful purple lipsticks I own. It wore for over 5 hours and left a beauiful stain after. It applied evenly and smoothly, and felt quite comfortable to wear. It was slightly moisturizing. This wore well, even when my lips were in bad shape.
- Island Punch - Cool toned, punchy purple with a cream finish(hint of frost)(full coverage)- This wore for about 4 hours. It applied smoothly and was comfortable to wear. It didn't dry out my lips but wasn't moisturizing either.
- Lime Time - Medium, green-yellow with a satin finish(medium coverage)- This wore for about 3 hours. It was too slippery to apply evenly, though it was comfortable to wear. It didn't dry out my lips but wasn't moisturizing either.
- Mint Julep - Soft mint green with a satin finish(medium coverage)- This wore for about 3 hours. It was too slippery to apply evenly, though it was comfortable to wear. It didn't dry out my lips but wasn't moisturizing either.
- Berry Blue- Bright, blueberry blue with a satin finish(full coverage)- This wore for about 4 hours. It applied smoothly and was comfortable to wear. It didn't dry out my lips but wasn't moisturizing either. It wore best with lips exfoliated.
- Blue Raspberry - Neon-like blue with a cream finish(full coverage)- This wore for about 5 hours. It applied smoothly and was comfortable to wear. It didn't dry out my lips but wasn't moisturizing either.
- Winter Green - Emerald green with a frost finish(medium coverage)- This wore for about 3 hours. It applied easily, and was comfortable to wear. It didn't dry out my lips but wasn't moisturizing either.
- Frozen Berry- Navy blue with a frost finish/visible shimmer(medium coverage)- This wore for about 3 hours. It applied easily, and was comfortable to wear. It didn't dry out my lips but wasn't moisturizing either.
*Use the purple and pink shades as cream bases to make your powder blush last longer, and more intense. Or wear them alone for that natural, no powdery look.*To mattify your lipstick while keeping the intensity, add a bit of loose/or pressed eyeshadow using a firm brush to press unto the lips. While translucent powders work, they can make your lipsticks less intense.
*Don't be afraid to wear unconventional lipsticks out in public. If you are, wear it in the house first, then to your gate, then to get your mail and so on...Then wear it to a party or fun event(not at the office though, unless you're in an industry that welcomes it). Make sure to opt for a color that compliments your skin color.

GumDrop
Twilight
Island Punch
Lime Time
Mint Julep
Berry Blue
Blue Raspberry
Winter Green
Frozen Berries
I have to grade these individually, since their peformance vary so widely. Overall most of these lipsticks are winners, especially the purple hues, and that's awesome with the "color of the year" being a beautiful purple shade. If you want to purchase any of these I'd suggest any of the purple, and blue shades, the shimmer shades are okay too.
A Island Punch, Twilight | B Gumdrop, Blue Raspberry, Frozen Berries
B+ Berry Blue, Winter Green | C- Mint Julep, Lime Time | F Backstage
Overall Score C-

...Just Face It
Nuff Luv...
