I'm rich! I'm very Rich!! Nene Leakes has nothing on me! I set my makeup with diamonds...diamonds! who does that? Me...that's who!!
This powder, and I hate calling it that because there's nothing powdery about these sexy little particles. I've raved about this quite a few times before, but I'm glad to do an official blog post about the Purely Cosmetics Diamond Perfect Finish "Powder." You can get it at Purely Cosmetics, Camera Ready Cosmetics or eskin store.
Purely Cosmetics says: "Diamond Perfect Finish is a unique product made with real diamonds and a patented diamond complex to create a flawless finish. Your face will have an airbrushed look. This fine powder will settle into your lines and pores translucently, and the photoluminescence subtly illuminates a blue glow invisible to the naked eye which decreases the appearance of wrinkles. This leads to youthful looking skin as the appearance of shadows, wrinkles, pigmentations and discolorations are diminished. The diamond powder bends and refracts light to reduce the visibility of those imperfections while giving an aura of "je ne sais quoi"! It is so finely milled that it does not give off a shimmer. Rather than being a glow that one thinks of in terms of "shiny", this is more of an "aura" - like that of someone who has a pleasant secret they're keeping to themselves. With nearly a carat of diamonds in each regular sized jar, Diamond Perfect Finish works perfectly for photography and high definition, and is superior in performance to products such as Makeup Forever's High Definition Finishing Powder. "
Now I could just stop here, because everything mentioned above about the performance of this powder is true for me...everything! But I won't; shall we continue?
This little jar of goodness has 6grams of product, which will last forever! And comes in a wide-mouth jar, that has a sifter on one side which helps to keep the product from escaping when traveling, or not in use. It costs $20, but also comes in a larger pro size(12g), which costs $35.
Diamond Perfect Finish is a talc free powder, that is said to be made with diamonds and diamond complex. It can be worn as a primer, before your foundation application, or to set your foundation and or concealer. It has a very soft, silky texture, and gives off almost an etheral glow, with a natural to matte finish depending on how much is used. It also makes the skin appear smoother. And most importantly it does not have that crazy casper ghost effect that a lot of powders like this does, especially on dark skin and with flash photography.
I can wear this with any foundation or concealer with no problems, easily. There is no cakiness in sight with this powder, not one shimmer particle, plus no over the top glow! Which makes it ideal for photo and videography, it's like an HD powder on crack(say no to drugs)! Purely Cosmetics evencompares this with Makeup Forever HD powder, at least they shut down HD powder. And I agree, there is no comparison, this powder kicks "MUFE" HD powder's bootay all day!

*Quick Tip: For a natural finish, use a large fluffy brush, dip it in the powder then tap off the excess, and apply Diamond Perfect Finish all over your face, then buff.
*If you want to maintain your dewy/glowy finish but don't want to sacrifice the longevity of your foundation, use a fan brush to dust the powder on areas that usually get oily on you, then pat with your fingers. Or mix Diamond Perfect Finish with your foundation.
*Want to maintain a matte finish? Use a dense brush or a sponge, dip it in the powder then tap off the excess, and pat on Diamond Perfect Finish over your foundation.
I would absolutely repurchase this powder, actually I first got a sample size from Purely Cosmetics at an event, and I've now stepped up my game with the full size. I hope they never change the formula for this. I love this stuff... Now go get you some!!!

DeleteHi Monique,
ReplyDeleteJust wondering if this is not too ashen/white for black skin? Let me know your long term experience.
Hi Salama! No, it's wouldn't be too ashen. I've used it on deep complexions with a fluffy brush and it worked A-OK! hth:)
DeleteHello, do you think this can be used in lieu of a setting powder for the RCMA palettes? I'm looking for an alternative to their no color powder which is talc free
ReplyDeleteI can't tell you if it is. As I haven't tried the RCMA powder. All I know is that I love this stuff... sorry dear.
